AWESOME NIGHT TONIGHT.

Went to eat dinner in the bar in our building....discovered that they have on their menu THE FUCKING GRILLED CHEESE CHEESEBURGER!!! Do you know what I'm talking about? It's a cheeseburger between TWO GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICHES! OMG. Dan and I split one. It was amazingly delicious. I told him that if he ever sees me eat an entire one of those, he should shoot me immediately. [Unless I'm pregnant.] [I'm not.]

THEN. We took our new favorite drink (apple cider + spiced rum) and went for a walk. And discovered my new favorite secret place in all of Philly. Fucking amazing space down by the river, 5 minutes from our apt that neither of us knew about it until Dan discovered it a few days ago. I want to go there every day. And it makes me wish I smoked pot because it would be the BEST PLACE EVER.

Then came home to watch Whale Wars :-/ Sad episode tonight about the ramming of the Ady Gil. Gah. I knew it was coming, still kind of emotional :-( Seeing the captain/owner's sadness at losing his ship is just heartbreaking.

Wait a second. A hamburger in between two grilled cheese sandwiches? WHY HAVE I NEVER HAD ONE BEFORE? Is this only a Philly thing? Please tell me no. I need one right now. WAIT I CAN MAKE ONE RIGHT NOW. Def trying that out.

no, it's not a philly thing! i first heard of it when Dan showed me on Friendly's website (http://www.friendlys.com/grilled-cheese-burger-melt/). Then they made fun of it on The Colbert Report. That was, like, last week. Then last night we discovered that the bar downstairs started making it at some point (we haven't been in a while). The grilled cheese cheeseburger IS IN THE BUILDING!

All I can say is, you have more fun in Philly than I ever did when I lived there ;) And if you were pregnant, you wouldn't be drinking cider & spiced rum, and you soon wouldn't be eating in very many restaurants. It's a double-edged sword, dahling...
