Christmas recap

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! Mine was great! Great presents and cookies and family time.



The only annoying thing was that all day today my husband Dan, my brother and I were all dragging ass - like, we were soooo tired, yawning, had headaches, and just felt exhausted. Then around 8:30 PM my grandfather happened to mentioned that the coffee he made in the morning - was DECAF!!!! The three of us plus my mom were like "OH MY GOD, ARE YOU SERIOUS? THAT EXPLAINS SO MUCH!"

So, Dan and I had a great Star Trek Christmas - he got me...surprise surprise...STAR TREK XI DVD!!!!!!! Not really a surprise since I basically threatened him with bad things if he didn't get it for me. But he is awesome and got me the special release thingy with 2 discs and the digital copy so i can put it on my ipod and watch it every day at lunch and what? is there something wrong with that? ;-) But THEN - I got HIM....THE ENTIRE SERIES OF STAR TREK TNG!!! He's been wanting it for forever, but it's like $250 on Amazon and we didn't want to spend more than $200 on each other...so I got it on Ebay for $150!!!! He was totally NOT expecting that from me and I think he's really excited about watching...what is it...133 hours of Star TreK? Awesome :-D Starting tomorrow. Interrupted only by periodic viewings of Star Trek XI ;-)

So after being exhausted all day and trying not to think TOO much about Star Trek, fic, slash, etc (and only writing a little tiny bit of my first Pinto draft in my head), I am now back home on my computer opening about 1 million tabs of fic-to-read. The first thing I did though, and perhaps this deserves it's own post, but whatever - was to read my YULETIDE fic!!!!!!! It's 90210, Brandon/Dylan, says a lot with a little (just over 1,000 words) and it's great. You can read it if you're into that kind of thing: It was all just a game until he saw the look in Brandon's eyes.



Upcoming fic/fandom posts and other stuff:
- Working on a list of all my fic to keep everything in one place in this journal
- I want to post some recs from all of the millions of holiday fics that I've read over the past month
- After the author reveals on Jan 1, I'll post or link to my st_santa and Yuletide fics.
- I wrote a long-ish Kirk/Spock that I want to get beta'd before I post it, which is a first for me and I'll probably ask around for a beta in kirk_spock tonight or tomorrow.
- EPIC NEW YEAR'S PICSPAM!!!
- Drafting my first Pinto fic...
- Last installment of Beyond Measure will be finished/posted in the first week of 2010 if not before.

I am glad that you are going to get Beyond Measure finished. I have just finished reading the first 9 chapters and it's fantastic.

thanks! i'm glad you've liked it so far! comments like this one definitely inspire me, so i will try to finish soon (can't rush the inspiration, obviously, but it's about half done right now...)
