What does it say about me that my dog barked at me in the middle of the night so I would wake up and let him out so he could have diarrhea in the backyard...and the main feeling I came away with is pride?

Haha I was reading the Pancake fic again just last night and lol'ing at Chris asking Zach on the phone if she'd "done poopsie" and Zach chiding him for being proud over a natural bodily function.

I was going to say it's freaky how often I read one of your fics and then something happens in real life related to it, like when I read the one about Zach's mooning over a baby and then the very next day there being a tweet saying he'd done just that. Alas when I think about it though, they're the only two times it's happened. I'll keep re-reading "Fic Is Life" though just in case there is something supernatural at work!

The older, smarter (relatively speaking) one woofed all night once. We kept yelling downstairs at him to can it. Yeah. Regretted ignoring him the next day D: Pee-euw.

I had a dog once that did exactly the same thing, and I felt the very same way.

yeah, my other pug is a brat and will purposely TRY to go in the house, so this was a pleasant surprise. i mean, as pleasant as that sort of thing can be when having to get out of bed and go outside at 3:30 in the morning...

Poor baby. Is his expression always like that? Or is that a specific "I don't feel good" look? He's definitely smarter than one of my previous cats, who horfed up practically every mean he had on my carpet, rather than on the hardwood....

Aww, poor thing! I hope he's not sick and it was just a random occurrence of the squirts. But I would totally be proud if my cat woke me up to let me know he had bad poops. My husband too, for that matter.
