So Intense (Pintofest Luau ficlet)

A/N: Proof that I can relate everything to Pinto. Well, everything important, that is.
Chris knocked on the door of the cabin and waited. “Zach?” No answer. He peered into the window, then headed around back.
Behind the cabin, the mountain fell away. The view of the valley and the mountains in the distance was breathtaking, and it took Chris a second to notice Zach standing in the yard. Zach turned around at the sound of footsteps, and Chris was shocked to see tears streaming down his face.
“Zach? Is everything okay?”
Zach nodded and turned to point out across the valley at a gorgeous rainbow stretching across the sky. Chris came to a stop beside him. “Whoa, that’s a full rainbow!”
Zach bit his fist to stifle a sob and shook his head. “It’s a double rainbow, all the way across the sky.” His finger traced the perfect curve of the rainbows in the distance.
“Whoa. All the way!" Chris couldn't believe it. "It’s so bright!”
“So vivid.”
“So intense.”
“Oh my god, it’s starting to look like a triple rainbow!” Zach exclaimed. He ran his hands through his hair, shaking his head. “Oh my god.”
Chris’s gaze flicked between Zach’s astonished wonder and the rainbows stretching across the sky. His heart soared with the beauty of it all. He felt a prickle behind his eyes, and he suddenly understood the reason for Zach’s tears. He looked back out over the valley and reached for Zach’s hand.
“What does this mean?” Zach whispered, still watching the rainbows as he squeezed Chris’s hand.
“So intense,” Chris breathed.
Zach tore his eyes away and turned to look at Chris, deep into those sky-blue eyes. “So vivid.”
They leaned in, drawn toward each other, overwhelmed. Their lips met in a soft kiss. “So beautiful,” Zach mumbled. “It’s too much.”
Chris smiled and turned back toward the sky.
“That is the baddest fucking rainbow I've ever seen.”
